The computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is a software package that will help NTPC to:
•Manage, maintain and track our property, plant and equipment
•Make sure that NTPC gets the most out of our assets, and
•Have plans in place for orderly replacement of assets as they reach end of life.

To develop and implement industry best practice asset and maintenance management procedures that include the use of information systems for control, reporting, costing, decision and efficiency benefits.  Asset management and maintenance practices at NTPC should cover the entire asset life cycle from planning and acquisition to retirement of the assets. The selection and implementation of an appropriate software solution in "stand-alone" (not integrated with Financial or other systems) was completed in this phase of the project.
